Inspiration | Marion Moretti

In life, we all get inspired by people in one way or another. Whether it's an artist's work (a movie, a painting, music, etc.) or someone's wise words. You can get inspiration from everywhere. In this series, I plan on sharing a wide range of people who inspires me - any domains - and, maybe you'll discover some new people to get inspiration from.

To start this series, I decided to go with someone I discovered fairly recently: Marion Moretti, also known as Marion Cameleon on YouTube and Instagram. Marion is a certified makeup artist and beauty influencer from France. In 2010, she graduated from Nice's Make Up For Ever Academy. After graduating, she got various jobs with the brand, going from advisor at their pop up store to trainer at Nice's Make Up For Ever Academy and even behind the scene at Make Up For Ever's headquarters. Between then and now, she gained success trough Instagram before migrating her career to YouTube less than a year ago.

What drew me to Marion was her colorful looks. She's always using colors - it's rare she goes for the neutral side. Truth to be said, she is colorful in every aspects - look at her current bright yellow hair, I love it. There is so many neutral tutorials on YouTube these days - thanks to everyone's obsession with Kim K. -, it's refreshing to see someone play with colors and do bolder, more artistic looks. To add up to the colorful looks, Marion loves to incorporate glitters (she always mix her glitters), strass and neon liners which gives a more artistic look.My favorite look of her is probably the purple one with the stars (shown above). While watching her tutorials, I learned a new method she always uses: using cream bases (pencils or cream shadows) to map out your shadows. This method is a bit more time consuming - and dirties more brushes - but, for more intense shadows, this is brilliant.

At the end of last year, she came out with two makeup series: 31 looks for Halloween and an advent calendar of 24 looks. I've seen a lot of artists taking the Halloween band wagon in 2017 but, never the advent calendar. It was different from your typical holiday makeup with looks ranging from The Grinch, Krampus, Nutcracker, Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas and even a few more wearable, holiday looks.

Chrome eye shadows by Annabelle Cosmetics

From left to right: Annabelle Cosmetics single Chrome eye shadows in Silver, Gold and Rose Gold

In the cosmetic world, glitters are everyone's worst enemy. They're pretty but...they always gets everywhere. The floor, your clothes, the carpet. And, an accident arrives so fast! If you love the look of glitters but can't commit to cleaning up the mess they leave behind, these single Chrome eye shadows by Annabelle Cosmetics are you you. There isn't a lot of shades - only five - and I'll admit that they are 'comfort colors' but, you can do a handful of looks with them.

The packaging of these Chrome eye shadows reminded me of the similar ones by Stila - the ones you have to mix in a liquid with. Be careful, these dries fast and if you don't want to throw them out before you make a dent in the pot, you better close the lid fast after you use them and keep it tight. The texture is very creamy and glides on easily on the lid. After trying with a brush and with my fingers, the latter is when I got the best results. It gets more products on the lid and, if you want to be more precise (ex: inner corner), you can always use a small brush to push/blend the product there. The Chrome eye shadow pots catch the light easily when you wear them and will make any eye look stand out. The wear time was fairly great for glitters, these don,t end up on your cheeks or all over your face throughout the day. I wore them to shows and they lasted trough the whole evening - very surprising. They made my makeup look poppin in photos! (Thanks Annabelle!) I hope they come out with more shades and expand to brighter colors like blues, reds, purple or oranges/peach. Those would be nice.

Annabelle Cosmetics single Chrome eye shadow in Gold

Gold is a champagne gold that goes with every looks. This shade is my favorite of the bunch. I wear it so much I made a dent in it - no shame. It stands out against any eye shadows you pair it with. My favorite way to wear it is with a smokey eye or, just a simple brown/bronzer shade (I love the one from the Love Contours All by NYX, it's the best for this look) in the crease. And, it pairs with every lip shades too. If you're planning on getting only one, this gold shade is the one to go!

Annabelle Cosmetics single Chrome eye shadows in Rose Gold

Rose Gold is, in my opinion, less sparkly than the silver and gold shade. Personally, I wouldn't qualify this shade as 'rose gold'. It's more of a light brown shade with a pink hue. I love pairing this with my red tones eye shadows like Bitten, Cherry Cola and Americano from Makeup Geek. Makes the perfect red/cranberry halo eye.

Annabelle Cosmetics single Chrome eye shadows in Silver

Silver is very bright and sparkly. It literally looks like aluminum foil. When you're working with cool tones, silver is your best friend if you want a pop of glitters. In the middle for a halo eye or simply all over the lid, this silver shade will make any look stand out. Perfect for Christmas parties and holiday looks!
